• Spend your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my family, extended family and friends and staying active….hiking, BBQing, golfing, scuba diving, skiing, traveling, etc. I also love being involved in various organizations from participating with my 9-Tees group to staying active in organized optometry as well as local mom’s groups.
 
• What motivates you?
I like to see things grow and blossom,whether that means my practice, professional organizations I belong to, my home or my son!
 
• Dreams?
 To have more children and travel to as many places as possible.

• Regrets?
Not living in The City before moving to the “burbs”  Really, I have no regrets.
 
• A few things most people don’t know about you?
 On my honeymoon to Palau I swam in a lake filled with jellyfish as well as scuba dived down to depths of 120 feet!  When I was pregnant, I could hit the golf ball an extra 20 yards!  
 
• Three words to describe yourself?
 Active, energetic, personable
 
• What do you love most about your life?
That I am always surrounded by family and friends
 
• How do you balance work and personal life?
In addition to really loving what I do “work-wise,” having a supportive husband and family allow me to more easily balance work and personal life. I also believe that the saying “when you work, work hard, and when you play, play hard” helps me to enjoy work and personal life even more.    
 
• What do you like most about your job/practice/career?
I love my profession from many standpoints, but I especially enjoy getting to know my patients and their families on a personal basis as well as the variety of aspects within my profession.
 
• What is your biggest challenge as a female OD?
 Even though I feel like I am able to balance work and life comfortably, I would still say that my biggest challenge is having enough time in the day to do everything that I want to do in a day. I suspect that as I have more children it will be an even bigger challenge.
 
• What are you most proud of professionally?
I am most proud that I was named the AOA’s Young Optometrist of the Year in 2005.
 
• What are you professional goals?
Professionally, I want to continue to grow my practice as well as continue being actively involved in groups such as Women of Vision and other organized optometry groups like the American Optometric Association.
