President
Christine W. Sindt, OD, FAAO, is a 1994 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She completed a disease based residency at the Cleveland VA Medical Center. Dr. Sindt joined the Faculty of the University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences in 1995, where she is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology and Director of the Contact Lens Service. Dr Sindt is a Fellow in the Academy of Optometry, the 20010-2011 Chair of the AOA Cornea and Contact Lens Council, President of Women of Vision and Vice President of the Scleral Lens Education Society. Dr. Sindt is Chief Clinical Editor for Review of Optometry and an Associate Editor for Review of Cornea & Contact Lenses, where she contributes a monthly column on contact lens solutions. She is a member of the Gas Permeable Lens Institute Advisory panel and is currently working on the Irregular Corneal Teaching Module. Her current clinical interests include pediatric, keratoconus and post surgical contact lens fits. Her current research projects include dry eye, keratoconus, contact lens solution research and confocal microscopy corneal imaging.
Vice President
Gretchyn M. Bailey, NCLC, FAAO, is a graduate of Temple University with a degree in journalism. She fell into eye care by a twist of fate, and she has been here for the past 21 years. She has served as Associate Publisher of AOA News and Optometry; Associate Publisher and Editor in Chief of Review of Cornea & Contact Lenses; Director of Special Projects for Review of Optometry and Review of Ophthalmology; and Executive Editor of Contact Lens Spectrum. She is currently Articles Coordinator for the Gas Permeable Lens Institute and contributes to Contact Lens Spectrum, Vision Care Product News and Optical Lab Products as well as assisting consulting clients such as Bausch + Lomb, CooperVision and Alcon. Ms. Bailey is NCLE certified and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
Secretary
Pam Theriot began her education with receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry & Biology from Rice University. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry in May 2001. She completed a residency in Vision Therapy/Pediatrics at State University of New York, College of Optometry. Dr. Theriot currently provids patient care with emphasis on geriatrics and ocular disease management a an ophthalmology owned group practice in Green Valley, AZ. She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry, and the Arizona Optometric Association. She is also the AZ state liaison for both the InfantSee program and Healthy Eyes/Healthy People. She is the immediate past president of the Southern Arizona Optometric Association.
Treasurer
Mandy Mataya Pietig is a graduate of the University of Iowa and the Illinois College of Optometry. She is currently working in a private practice in Ankeny, Iowa. Her clinical focus includes advanced contact lens fitting and pediatric optometry. Dr. Mataya Pietig enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, cheering for the Hawkeyes, boating, golfing or any outdoor activity.
Mentorship Coordinator
Melanie J Denton, OD, FAAO, is a graduate of the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (2005) and the Michigan College of Optometry (2009). In 2010, she completed a one-year residency in Ocular Disease at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami. Dr. Denton is currently in private practice in Salisbury, NC, where she specializes in dry eye management and is an active InfantSEE provider. She is involved locally with the Kiwanis and Civitan Clubs of Salisbury. Nationally, in addition to the Women of Vision executive board, Dr. Denton is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the Ocular Surface Society of Optometry and the American Optometric Association. She is also active in Volunteers for Optometric Services to Humanity of North Carolina (VOSH-NC) as secretary. Her current clinical interests include pediatric optometry, ocular disease, and dry eye management.

Glenda Secor, OD, FAAO, is currently in private practice in Huntington Beach, California. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a Diplomate of the Cornea and Contact Lens Section, and is a past Chair of the Section on Cornea, Contact Lenses and Refractive Technology. Dr. Secor is an active member of the American Optometric Association and currently serves as a Council Member of Contact Lens and Cornea Section. In recent years, she served as the New Practitioner Practice Management Project Team Chair. Her honors include being named California Optometrist of the Year in 2006 by the California Optometric Association, being named one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Optical by Vision Monday in 2004, and being selected as Distinguished Practitioner in Optometry for the National Academies of Practice in 2003. She is currently on the Board of Trustees of the Southern California College of Optometry. She has been a clinical investigator for numerous manufacturers and has lectured, served on editorial boards, and published extensively. Dr. Secor received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University.Member-at-Large
Louise Sclafani, OD, FAAO, is associate professor of ophthalmology and visual science and director of optometric services at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She serves as a teacher and mentor to ophthalmology residents, optometry externs and medical students at the University of Chicago. Dr. Sclafani accepts numerous invitations to speak at conferences and seminars around the country. She has received several awards and honors for demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and teaching skills. Dr. Sclafani has also been appointed to positions of leadership in several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association. Additionally, she serves as a team optometrist for the Chicago Blackhawks.
Immediate Past President
Rhonda Robinson, OD, FAAO, earned her Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University in 1982. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Indiana Optometric Association, and the Society of the Central Indiana Optometric Association. She is a leader in the national optometric community and the founding president of Women of Vision. She is a frequent guest lecturer at the various schools of optometry in North America and continuing education programs. She is a regular contributor to optometric journals and serves as a contributing editor of Optometric Management. She has been a guest on The Martha Stewart Show and The Doctors discussing her forte: fitting multi-focal contact lenses; and was recognized by Vision Monday as one of the top 50 women in optical and by Review of Optometry as one of the top 10 most influential women in optometry.Charter Members
